Sunnyside Shines provides a range of services including:

• supplemental sanitation
• holiday lighting
• security support
• neighborhood beautification
• district marketing
• promotion of a positive public image of Sunnyside
• advocacy with government agencies

Sunnyside Shines is dedicated to promoting local, independent merchants who are the backbone of Sunnyside's economic life. We also provide exciting, family-friendly events to stimulate residential participation and to attract outside visitors to the neighborhood.

• Sunnyside Shines was one of the first two communities in Queens to participate in NYC's Department of Transportation Summer Streets and Weekend Walks program to provide open space to the public.

• Sunnyside Shines hosts the annual Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Concert in August to showcase the life and talents of a pioneering jazz musician who lived the latter part of his life in Sunnyside.

• Sunnyside Shines is planning community greening projects including the installation of hanging baskets of flowers on district light poles.

• Sunnyside Shines installs wintertime holiday lights the full length of the district.
