Sunnyside, NY, September 3, 2013 – The Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District (BID) launched its new website this weekend at www.sunnysideshines.org. The redesigned website, funded fully by the New York City Department of Small Business Services, will allow Sunnyside Shines to promote its events, initiatives and local businesses with a more user-friendly and contemporary interface.
The redesigned website is fully integrated with Sunnyside Shines’ social media accounts and hosts an individual page for each business located within the BID. These pages may be enhanced with photos and other content and business owners are encouraged to send such materials to Sunnyside Shines.
The Sunnyside Shines website was redesigned through AvenueNYC funding from the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS), which provided a fully designed, yet customizable website to five small economic development organizations.
“We are so pleased with the new website,” said Rachel Thieme, executive director of Sunnyside Shines, “and we are extremely grateful to the New York City Department of Small Business Services for selecting us to participate in the website development program. Having such a user-friendly site will allow us to better promote the vibrant businesses and activities happening in Sunnyside.”
“AvenueNYC provides funding to non-profit economic development organizations to help strengthen neighborhoods and support commercial revitalization projects in all five boroughs,” said Rob Walsh, Commissioner of the NYC Department of Small Business Services. “The new Sunnyside Shines Web site will help local small businesses, residents, and visitors learn more about the neighborhood and explore what Sunnyside has to offer.”
The site was designed by Vanguard Direct, a web design and media company located in New York City and will be updated regularly by Sunnyside Shines staff.
