Sunnyside Restaurant Week Highlights Food and Art

iNovember 13, 2013

The first-ever Sunnyside Restaurant Week was a big success!  Held from November 4 through November 8, the week highlighted Sunnyside as a destination for food, arts and culture.

Sixteen restaurants participated by offering a 3 course dinner menu for $25, with some restaurants also offering a 2 course lunch menu for $10.

Sunnyside Shines partnered with No Longer Empty to curate site-specific art installations in three of the restaurants: PJ Horgan's, Malingo and Venturo.

Sunnyside Restaurant Week kicked off on Monday, November 4 with an opening night party featuring the mariachi band Flor de Toloache and a tour of the art installations around the neighborhood.  We were joined by local artists, residents and elected officials Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer and Senator Michael Gianaris. The promotion was generously supported through the Avenue NYC program administered by the NYC Department of Small Business Services.
