Free Concerts Coming to Sunnyside for Make Music NY

A diverse array of musicians, playing everything from Americana to world music, will perform in front of Sunnyside businesses on June 21. Sunnyside Shines, Sunnyside’s Boulevard Bars and The Skillman Project have signed up businesses to host free concerts during the 2014 Make Music New York festival, which takes place on Saturday, June 21. The festival, billed as the largest outdoor music festival in New York City, features over 1,300 free, outdoor concerts occurring each year on the summer solstice.

 

This year 23 performances will take place throughout the neighborhood, including several local businesses, the 40th Street plaza and the Sunnyside branch of the Queens Library. Given the diversity of the performers there is sure to be something for everyone. The full schedule for Make Music New York is available at www.makemusicny.org.

It provides free outdoor entertainment throughout the day and introduces the people who live and work here, as well as those visiting for the weekend, to new and different kinds of music.”
